What is it, color, durability. I've seen it but no idea what it is or the benefits of it. Also, Tich coating. Colorize I thought itch was brown/bronze color. I received some guides (tich) and they were black(?).

Robert

I think but am not positive the ECOating is a friction reduction thing. To be certain, call Mike at Snake Brand and ask him. Really nice guy.

There are multiple titanium alloys used for guides and blanks. TFO offers, or previously did offer, carbon fiber blanks with a titanium and chrome coating in red and blue. REC's Recoil guides are titanium and nickel offered in black orwhat REC labels "natural". Throw into the mix black vs black nickel for example and this color thing can quickly become really confusing.

Pretty sure eco coating is a pvd process like the tichrome. It suppose be as durable or more than chrome plating without the harsh chemicals to make.

Tich can range from grey to pretty much black color.

To make it more confusing most manufacturers pvd tich on top of chrome plating. Aparantly eco coating does not. Hopkins and Holloway has good info about pvd coatings on their guides.
