Will the Fuji KSKSS/ASH - Hidden Thread Hood work on a VSS reel seat? Never tried it but it looks like it should . I was going to use the perfect fit cover on it.

Thank,s Tom

Tom, you will need to trim the VSS reel seat a little to get everything to fit flush. I use this hidden thread hood with the Fuji Winn thread cover sleeve on the VSS seat; works great! One of my favorite reel seat grip combos.

Norm, I see that the sleeve is shorter to accommodate the Fuji/Winn cover sleeve, so I'll trim it. Thanks. This is going on the Phenix Iron Feather Rod we have been discussing. I am reversing the grip direction of the factory version and with the Winn grips this should be one sweet Rod. Do you use 16 or 17 mm VSS seats?

On almost all of my spin rods I use a size 17. The size 16/15 VSS with Winn grips is pretty small but do ok on an ultra light. Is it going to be up locking or down locking? I do all of mine down locking. A very comfortable setup that fits the hand very well, and also looks good. How is that Iron feather blank? Let me know how it turns out.

I was going to use the 17mm and in the down lock version. He was hoping to be able to touch the blank ahead of the reel seat, so that short front thread cover it should be the deal. If i get it done by ICRBE I could bring it along. I am excited to see a 8ft 6in rod that weighs only 1.5 oz.

I forgot to mention that the Fuji TVSK/ASH hidden thread hood also works and is a couple of bucks cheaper. Slightly different shape but basically the same size. Still need to trim a few threads off the VSS seat.
