Inlay ideas?

Has anyone ever tired to inlay a piece of fish skin on a rod? I have wanted to try it. I'm assuming it's almost the same as inlaying snake skin. And has anyone tried to inlay flower pedals as something different?

yup it's like snake skin as for other things try a sample on a scrap piece or a dowel and see what result you get .
I would think that a pedal would eventually loose it's vibrant color just like a leaf does

Do you think coating it in color preserver would help? I also use flex coat with uv protection.

Because a flower petal is organic, there is a high probability of it not only discoloring, but rotting as well.

you should be able to inlay dried flowers...people preserve flowers in epoxy all the time. Do a quick google search of epoxy preserved flowers. Find a flower that holds color well after being dried.
