Has anyone ever tired to inlay a piece of fish skin on a rod? I have wanted to try it. I'm assuming it's almost the same as inlaying snake skin. And has anyone tried to inlay flower pedals as something different? Re: Inlay ideas?

yup it's like snake skin as for other things try a sample on a scrap piece or a dowel and see what result you get .
I would think that a pedal would eventually loose it's vibrant color just like a leaf does The best day to be alive is always tomorrow !! Think out side the box when all else fails !!! Wi. Re: Inlay ideas?

Do you think coating it in color preserver would help? I also use flex coat with uv protection. Re: Inlay ideas?

Because a flower petal is organic, there is a high probability of it not only discoloring, but rotting as well. Re: Inlay ideas?

you should be able to inlay dried flowers...people preserve flowers in epoxy all the time. Do a quick google search of epoxy preserved flowers. Find a flower that holds color well after being dried. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
