Need some help in ID ing a couple of Loomis Fly Rods. I believe these are original Loomis rods, a customer, brought them in and is looking to sell them. I can't find any info on the net about them
They are:
1- Loomis 8' 5wt 3pcs Trilogy Fly Rod Model 985-3 w/ Loomis GL 3--4-5 REEL,, Cloth and Hard Case
1- Loomis 9' Model FR 10810, GL-2 Fly Rod with Scientific Angler reel Model 1011 Cloth and Hard Case
Both are in excellent shape
Any help will be appreciated

Thanks

You pretty much have all the information right there - the first is a fly rod, 98 inches (8'2") 5-wt and 3-pieces. The second one is fly rod, 108 inches (9'), 10-wt and 2-pieces. Both were made in the 1990's, mid-1990's most likely.

The Loomis fly reels was something I sold in an earlier life, they were a good reel, the ones I remember were a champagne color, and retailed for $ 100 is I remember right. About the time the Trilogy rods came out Loomis got rid of the matt black GL3 rods and went with colored blanks, they also redesigned the rod's tapers to more closely match the tapers they first developed for the GLX rods. The GL2 rods were the low end rods in G Loomis' line, still a decent rod.
