Would these guides be too heavy for use on a 6'6" 2 Wt fly rod? I don't want to put good looks ahead of function....
Thanks, Pesco Ergo Sum Re: Minima Model F

don't see an issue as there isn't going to be 5-6 guides
I would use 3- 3w 1-4w the total weight of these 4 guides is 0.281 g. then a stripper and tiptop , You can slim down the feet a bit on the guides and they would be even lighter other option would be nano micro their weight would be 0.1987g a choice to be made The best day to be alive is always tomorrow !! I think you will find 4 guides to be too little for a fly rod, if in doubt do the static test. I build only fly rods and have built a number of these 2 weights on Batson blanks and use 6 guides..The minima F will work fine. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/28/2017 10:38PM by Phil Erickson. By using single foot guides you are only wrapping once instead of twice like for double foot snake guides. The length of the wire and the material of a double foot snake guide may actually by itself weight more than the Minima guide. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
