Any first hand experience with their HM steelhead blanks? I'm looking at the 962-2 and 964-2 really hard. Re: GET BIT OUTDOORS - NFC BLANKS 60% OFF, 158 MODELS - FREE SHIPPING

Built a few, personally I go with the IM series for my own rods, if you like the G Loomis IMX rods, you'll like these.
Was at the Portland Sportsman Show some years ago, first year the Edge rods were available, a customer fumbled a HM 962-2 spinning rod and dropped it, the butt dropped about 1 1/2 inches to the floor than it just tipped over and slapped the floor. Everything looked fine till the rod was picked up and the salesman had him grab the tip so he could put a flex in it to show the curve and power, the rod blew into 3 pieces. I've never had a HM come back, but they have all been medium or medium heavy powered rods where the weight difference is more noticeable. That said the fall that rod took is something you see all the time on the river from the shore or on a boat. The one HM I own is the 10 1/2 ft. Medium Hvy, I built it as a casting rod and it weights 5.8 oz, I could have built it a bit lighter with no problem, I have no concerns for it's durability after all the use it's gotten. The blanks I bought are the ST 741-1 IM. Fished a day on a guide boat, side drifting for steelhead, using their supplied rods and they are something else, the butt diameter on them is what you'd expect to see on your heavy MB blanks not a rod rated 4 - 8 lb. line, lots of reserve power in that blank when you get a big fish.
