Actually, I have not attempted any finish removal. I've been spending my free time going over old postings in this website.

Thanks to all of you fine folks for taking the time to share your knowledge, Ideas and experience.

At this time, I'm kind of leaning toward Citristrip. I think that I will stop at the local Lowe's on Wednesday.

I just posted about stripping the finish from a blank and I'll give citristrip a shot.

I did 6 old junk practice blanks last weekend with Citri-Strip and worked good. Did have some trouble spots, but most of them had no issues. I coated the rods and let sit for about 1-2 hours to get the finish off then recoated again and left over night. Was able to remove paint and finish with a green scotch cleaning pad. It won’t remove epoxy, so have to get that off first. A razor, light sand paper and goof off did the trick. Dont leave it on too long as it is a stronge solvent and could eat the fiber adhesive. Some of them cleaned up so well that I don’t even need to paint, the natural fibers looks great. As for painting, I’m still testing so can’t help with that.
