Is this what I would use if I turned my own wooden reel seat?

If not could someone point me to what to use?

Thanks Rick

Yes, or any other similar type skeleton seat. You will turn a barrel with shouldered ends that will accept the ID of the particular skeleton seat hardware you choose.

If it's for a fly rod use the 16 mm, the 17 mm size is more comfortable to use as a spinning seat. it's the size used by G Loomis, St. Croix, etc. on spinning rods of all types.

Make sure you size the seat appropriately with the OD where the seat will fit so that you have enough wall thickness for the recessed ends. I just go done doing a couple of 18's and 20's due to the Blank OD
