Is this what I would use if I turned my own wooden reel seat?
[www.mudhole.com] If not could someone point me to what to use? Thanks Rick Re: Turning a reel seat

Yes, or any other similar type skeleton seat. You will turn a barrel with shouldered ends that will accept the ID of the particular skeleton seat hardware you choose.

If it's for a fly rod use the 16 mm, the 17 mm size is more comfortable to use as a spinning seat. it's the size used by G Loomis, St. Croix, etc. on spinning rods of all types. Re: Turning a reel seat

Make sure you size the seat appropriately with the OD where the seat will fit so that you have enough wall thickness for the recessed ends. I just go done doing a couple of 18's and 20's due to the Blank OD Ron Weber Re: Turning a reel seat
