Ritz Grip, Anyone?

I don't know why, but I've never tried a Ritz grip. So, I turned one this morning. It feels a little odd (not surprising) on the mandrel, but nonetheless comfortable. This will be a faux birch bark, cork grip, and it will be several days applying strain and finish. In the meantime, thought it would be interesting to know the thoughts of fly rod builders with experience turning or fishing Ritz grips. If nothing else, it's something different not seen frequently these days on factory or custom rods.

I like them because the larger diameter is to the front where you want it if you have to apply pressure on a longer cast or larger fish. Also by shifting your hand a little further forwards or back you can find the right diameter for your hand size. One Ritz grip can actually fit many different hand sizes.

Donald,
All my personal fly rods for the past 2 years have Ritz grips.

My grips used to be full wells of 7.25 - 7.5"

Now only Ritz at 6.75".
