I'm planning on building several boat rods for bay/inshore bottom fishing (flounder, sea bass, cobia, etc.). Would prefer to build as spinning rods. Anyone have suggestions as to a decent blank to use? I'm not OLD........I'm CHRONOLOGICALLY GIFTED Re: Need blank recommendation - bay/inshore bottom fishing boat rod

The above recommendation is a good choice, and rainshadow knife jigging blanks. Seeker Hercules blank (GTS70L) is worth a look as well. Seeker has a wider lure weight range. Good luck Re: Need blank recommendation - bay/inshore bottom fishing boat rod

Check out the RodGeeks blanks. Billy Vivona had a lot of input on those and they were designed for those applications. Re: Need blank recommendation - bay/inshore bottom fishing boat rod

The American Tackle AXVJ6030 is what I use for those fish. The 6040 is also pretty good for that type of fishing. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
