thread color on Cabelas rod

its a Tourney Trail IM8 replacing a guide and i dont have anything close, anyone have any idea what color threat they used on the wraps?

Hard to tell using on-line pictures but it looks like a Blue/Grey without color preserver. I replace guides on 10 to 20 rods a week and find most manufactures don't use color preserver so you have to look at colors differently. I do a test wrap then darken with water to see the match.

Terry cut down the guide foot and take a large amount of thread off the guide. Turn it over and look at the color of the thread underneath the epoxy that is what you are looking to match up not what is showing on top of the guide. You can enlarge the thread color chart on Mudhole's Pro wrap thread on line and put it next to the screen and you should find a pretty close match.

thank you, i got as close as i could and it is a little darker, but unless you look close you will never catch it.
