Hello:

I'm trying to create wraps in "Kawasaki" green and can't find any thread that comes close. If I can find some Testors paint, can I just paint over white thread wraps, add a coat of CP, and then apply the epoxy? Any advice is appreciated.

Just put the paint pigments into your epoxy over your white thread.

It won't take much to color the epoxy, and too much and it won't cure right, so experiment.

Look into some of the powder marbling pigments.

the green chartreuse pro tec powder paint is close to the color you want mix it in to the epoxy and let it cure and you good to go as it works well with the epoxy finishes

Tried looking at the Sulky threads, maybe dark chartreuse, or something similar, being at your closest fabric store makes it handy.

Testers enamel pigment will color your finish epoxy very well. Let the paint settle for a while and then remove the clear liquid so just the pigment remains. Mix your epoxy as normal after mixing add a few drops of the pigment via a tooth pick and mix together with the epoxy. If the color is not dense enough add a few more drops of pigment. A little pigment will go a long way. With red, blue, yellow, black and white pigments you can make any color you want, but buying the enamel color of your choice is easier and cheaper. You can apply the pigmented epoxy directly to you wraps or you can first coat threads with uncolored epoxy and then after drying use the pigmented epoxy as your top coat. Practice first to see what works best for you.
