Shade space

I am looking at wrapping a spider wrap, and want to shade or fade some colors, so on the spacing chart it got 5 passes up to 12 passes. So if i am going to shade, would i need to have say like 10 passes, instead of like 6 or 7 passes on my spider wrap, to have enough room for a decent fade or shade?

The more threads per color the more subtle the shade. You could do it in three, but it will be fairly distinct. It really just depends on how subtle you want the shade to be, or not.

Ok,but im concerned about how much space i have to shade, like say i do 7 or 8 passes, then i would have only that many passes do do the shade. Like the spider deco, the spider part in the middle of the deco. Would only be like2or 2.5 mm to do the shade, 7 or 8 passes. How would i go about that? Maybe do like a 12 pass spacing? But the rod is a med heavy blank. And that many passes would be over kill on a rod like that?

Try it and see how you like it. If you don't like it cut it off and try something different.
