tip question

I got some tips where there is a tube with female threads that goes on the blank and a tip that goes over with a screw that hold it to the other piece .is there a name for this type and what were they used for. Re: tip question

Are you talking about a quill, or leger tip? They are used on light powered match rods, usually there are multiple tips depending on what works at the time, it's a visual thing, watching the tip for a bite indication instead of using a float of some kind. It can be either a tension, or slack bite you see. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
