Marbling Red Drum "false eyes" on copper metallic thread?

I've never done any marbling. Read up here on it some. Could the "false eye" patterns (say an irregular black spot surrounded by a metallic gold border) on a red drums tail be done with pseudo mottling. Would want to do it over copper metallic thread. Wasn't sure if the gold and black spots would run or blend too much.

Hello Scott.

Test run first and let the colored epoxy set-up a little before applying.

Tight Wraps & Tighter Lines.

New Bern, NC.

Why not do it over a JT Dragon Scales wrap? Then do the gold spot. Then add a coat of finish over it. Then add the black portion and coat over it. It could give the false eye a 3D effect and create a unique looking butt wrap. Like you actually used a section of fish skin to create it. If I got the colors in the wrong order, just reverse them.
As Robert mentioned, let the finish set up a bit before you add each portion of the eye,to prevent it running.
