The Epoxy went from clear when new to a slite brown can I still use it and is there a way to clear the Epoxy up to clear and like new again Epoxy.

All epoxy finishes will darken with time and there is no way to get it clear again. However, the epoxy is still good and will work fine. Use it with dark colored thread on a dark blank and you will not notice the color. If you use it on very light colored thread and/or on a while blank you may notice the amber color. One part Polyurethane rod finishes, like Permagloss, will not yellow, but they require more coats and do not give you the deep glossy look like epoxy does.

No, it will not clear but also, no it is not too old to use. All epoxies will darken over time, both in the bottle and on the rod. Heat and sunlight accelerate the process.

Purchase smaller quantities, so that you can use the epoxy up, before it ages on you.

yes definitely purchase smaller amount of epoxy as it does turn and everyone follows the idea that you need to heat it up every time you use it speeds up the darkening The only reason to heat it up is to return the crystallized resin back to a liquid and that works but the working time is lessened as the resin wants to go back to crystals it is the nature of that part of epoxy so if you do use it keep in mind that it will set slightly faster
I have found at room temp of 65- 70 it still works flows and sets with in a few hours for the finishes and the use of the pour out on to a piece of foil does remove all the bubbles and and does extend the use time.
with a 2 ounce kit you should be able to finish 7 0r more rods if you don't mix more than you need for a coat

The epoxy also ages on the rod. It will turn dark in the bottle and/or on the rod. Using it while it still mostly clear does not stop it from turning amber/yellow/dark once cured and on the rod.
