Mark,
I prefer to use 1+ coat of finish and move on to the next project. Always a perfect finish that has a nice luster.

Extra finish means extra weight that may be detrimental to the performance of the rod.

If doing more than one coat, then I generally wait for 8 hours between coats. No need to have a rock hard finish before the next coat. You just need the previous coat to be not tacky in feel before applying the next coat.

NOW -- think of the weight you are adding to your rods ??? One NICE coat of light finish -- when set to sand Sand out ant faults -- Another thing coat will do -- A lot less weight It will perform a lot better - and I would think you will be a lot happier with it ??

This multiple coating applies to a Tiger wrap, which is most likely near the grip, so a little extra weight probably isn't a issue.
