Well guess this guy did too, so he went both! Anyone else try this? If so, how did it work out?

Jon,
You could do, what one of the folks on one of the reality shows did while fishing.

They just took a casting reel, turned it upside down, put a spinning reel on it and caught a lot of fish.

Remember, if you have a blank with a grip and guides and tip on it. you can catch a fish with it - no matter whether you use a casting or a spinning reel on it.

Or remember one of the presidents who had his picture taken on a national magazine who was using a spinning rod and reel with the reel pointed up in the air. It also caught fish.

Good luck

Jon,
That's one way to solve the question.
Poorly.
Rod response would be awful.
Hang enough jewelry on any blank and observe the effect.

Neat!

This works if:

You can only afford one blank.

You are too lazy to carry two rods

You are in a rush and pack one reel without looking.

Your better half allows you only one rod.

You never have to lend out a spare rod,

You fish out of a Kayak.

Very nice piece of craftsmanship! Thanks for sharing it.

John
