Casting Resins?

Hello All.

I have been looking at casting resins and am confused, what's the difference between Epoxy Casting Resin, Acrylic Casting Resin and Polyester Casting Resin?
What are the attributes of each?
What are the detractors of each?

ALL HELP will be appreciated.

Thank You!

Hello Roger.

Thanks for the links, but I have read them and they don't help much.
I plan on using one of them to embed objects in to make fore grips.
Which is best for non-yellowing (most water clear), which is the least brittle (can be turned on a lathe easiest), which releases bubbles best?
That kind of thing, I like wiki but sometimes the clarity is just not there.(to much goble-de-gook).
Right now I'm looking more at the Polyester resin.

Any other comments would be appreciated.

Again Thanks Roger.

Acrylic will be the most clear (non yellowing). Epoxy will be the least brittle.

Hello Tom.

Thanks for the info.
I have about 10 projects running through my mind and I'm mostly spinning my wheels trying to make up my mind on some of them, I have read v8-i3-pg.10, v8-i5-pg.10, v13-i6-pg. 10, v14-i4-pg.19, v15-i5-pg.22, v18-i1-pg.16, and v19-i6-pg.16 and I am a little confused, v13-i6-pg.10 and v15-i5-pg.22 you seem to be using rods from TAP for both, is that correct?

In v19-i6-pg.16 you are using a Polyester casting resin (How clear is that type of resin without adding color & does it yellow?), and you are coloring it.

Thanks Again Tom.
