I have 7'9" TL Johnson 6wt bug poppin fly rod and broke 6" of the tip. Anyone else had this happen with this particular product. I would very much like to get a replacement tip from them. I don't want to have to purchase a blank as sold on @#$%& to make a new tip! The tip broke while casting. Re: tl Johnson tip breakage

Robert, Which one of the sponsors on the left sell TL Johnson? That name was mentioned a couple times in the last month but haven't seen them in any of my catalogs. Re: tl Johnson tip breakage

That is the problem with buying any blank on @#$%& without a warranty. I do buy blanks on @#$%& but it better be a deal so I can get 2 just in case of breakage or super cheap where if it does break it would not be a huge loss. No matter if I bought on there or sponsors here with warranty I bend the blanks on all axis to simulate fighting a good sized fish to what the rod is intended for and casting, if it is going to break due to manufacture defect or damage I want it to break then than after the build.
At this point I would contact the seller and tell them the situation nicely and see if they would offer a tip or full blank at a reduced price. Who knows they may offer a free tip if you cover shipping. Re: tl Johnson tip breakage

I am assuming from your post, that it is a build you did on a purchased blank. If it is warrantied, contact the seller or mfg. Re: tl Johnson tip breakage

I can't find a TL Johnson Fly rod site. Links to his site given in old reviews go no where, which makes me think he is no longer in business. You might be out of luck.

You may try contacting the seller for tljohnsonoutletdepot on that big @#$%& site. I do not know the current business profile of TL Johnson, but my impression isn't too positive for resources since most stuff i've seen for sale have been "old stock."

I contacted the seller and he said he will make it right. My only question was if anyone one had experience with tl Johnson blanks. I planned to talk to the seller before the moderator showed me the error of my ways but I was only asking if they had any experiences with the seller. Straightened me out!!!
