#5 tips with tubes that are 7.0 and/or 7.5???

I acquired a few blanks at the show last month (okay, maybe more than a few). All of them from bargain bins, and none of them were exactly labelled. I had planned on using running guides with #5 rings, however two of the blanks require tips with tube sizes in the 7.0 to 7.5 range. Typically, I use basic black Alps guides, however I can't seem to fine any tips with #5 rings and tubes this large. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Just use a size #6 ring it wont make any difference and the size is close enough anyways. On trips I have had to replace tips and sometimes have used size 8 and 10 tops when my running guides were size six. Slap on a size 6 and go fishing.

It is possible to wrap on a single foot guide in place of a tiptop if you want the same size ring as the running guides. Otherwise a slightly larger ring in the tiptop isn't going to hurt you.

Ron, the #5 ring with a 7.5 tip top is good news to me!

Prior to this posting the closest I could find was a #7 ring with a 7.5 tube.
