For anyone interested. I spoke with my friend who told me the rod will stay in Florida therefore a 2 piece "works" I decided to go with the new American Tackle Bushido 2 piece 9 foot 12 wt BF9012-2 as a good compromise on casting efficiency and cost of the blank ... and since I'm a blank hoarder I just had to have one for myself. Thanks to Don at American Tackle = always nice to chat with you.

I also want to thank every one who responded - I learned a lot reading over the suggestions and blank recommendations. I came to the final decision as a
good compromise ... remember this is a 'give away' rod and honestly $200 or more is a "hit in the pocket"
