I'm not happy with the alignment of one eye. The finish is totally cured. Can I use a heat gun to soften it up and move it or do I need to just totally remove it and rewrap ? Re: Moving cured eye

I would remove and rewrap. As you said, it's only one guide and this will be easier on the blank.

Tom K's advice is the lower risk, higher probability of success option.
if you use a heat gun, keep the temperature low and use sparingly. Think warming - not heating. Cut the wraps on top of the guide feet so as to not risk cutting into the blank. A plastic knife or. my favorites, a plastic spoon or credit card, will help with the thread and finish removal. Just work slowly and carefully. If you ran the finish beyond the original wraps and have a difficult time removing that finish, leave it. Really. Make the new wraps flush to the old finish, and re-finish. No one will ever know there was an oops! Re: Moving cured eye
