I think Pacific Bay had them 8 years ago, or so, might try through buy/sell section to keep your need visible longer where people who may have some can see it.

You could attempt to make a camo paint on a foam grip. Not sure how feasible it is but might not be a bad alternative. Just when adding the paint I would think to use pigments that dont blend and keep the picking of the colors to a minium while the rod turns.

Thanks Ken.

Before I do that I will chop-up some single color strips of red white & blue, mix them up and incase them in acrylic, or glue them to a grip like flocking and then encapsulate in epoxy or MAYBE PG, not sure yet.

You got any Ideas?

Hi Robert,

I don't know if this is still available, but I happened to see this video the other day:

[youtu.be]

I have not used it.

Looks like Mudhole has it: [www.mudhole.com]

Take care,

Chris

Mudhole has different colored cammo grips, I know one color is blue.
Good luck.
Stan

Hello Chris & Stan.

Chris, that is a thought to be added to the possible list, while Stan MudHole carries Blue, White & Black, not the Red, White & Blue of the American Flag.

Thanks for the help but I am going to keep looking!

Hello All.

I was just puttering around on the board and read a post from Ken Brown2 about marbling cork, and Norm Miller suggested Pac Bay "Molded Polyurethane Foam Grips" from MudHole, AH-HA, what about a home made foam grip covered with FG tubing from Riley Rods with white color pigments in the wet-up, sand, paint white, then dip-marble with red and blue pigments, let it dry then cover it all in 3 or 4 coats of PG?

Am I missing anything, any suggestions or comments?

Any help or comments will be appreciated.

Bob,
I was looking at that recently as well. I think that might work well for the pistol grip that I want to work on. We shall see.

Lol. That's me and my daughter, Maddie, in that video. That was many moons ago. Maddie is where the mad-swirl gets its name. The grips in the Mud Hole link are grips I did. Some of the grips are rigid pour foam, and some is over eva. If you decide to try that route, feel free to give me a shout if you need any help. I also help the distributor distribute the paint and troubleshoot any issues that arise in rodbuilding for them.

Hello Jeremy.

Thanks, but I'm going to try two different techniques (Frankensteining some EVA together & Flocking) and see which I like better.

How ever I will be using some "Mad Swirl" paint on some future builds.

Thanks Again.
