anyone have issues with black thread turning blue? i purchased fuji nocp 001 black which isn't suppose to need color preserver but on the last few builds its def not a true black , more like a blackish blue if that makes sense.im going to use a color preserver this round but im just looking to see if its my epoxy or something im missing. Thanks

Most NCP blanks are a bit off-black, even a very, very, very deep navy blue. I suspect this is due to the pigment/chalk that is added to make it colorfast. It's not at all unusual.

There's really no need to use NCP black. All regular nylon black is pretty black and stays that way.

I agree with Tom, the NoCP black is sort of an off black and really it shows up after finish is applied, and this is true for most brands. Just use the regular black thread without CP, and the black will appear blacker.

I only use regular for black, NCP black always look ugly for me (very dark gray blue in most case).

In fact I only use NCP thread for trim.

As Eric stated - I only use NCP thread if a customer makes a specific request for its use.

I just prefer the look that I get from non NCP nylon thread with no color preserver being used.

I'm not sure why a customer would request NCP black?

Anyway, there is no need for NCP black if all you want is black. Regular nylon black stays it's color, unlike other plain nylon colors. If you want black, use plain nylon.

The ProWrap metallic black looks really black with or without CP, gives a little different look. Of course it doesn't need CP, but if adjacent threads need it, some may get on the black.
