Back-Issues Rod Maker Magazine

Hello everyone,

Even though this is a question Tom could answer, I wanted to put it on the board in case anyone else had an opinion that wanted to weigh in.

We started a subscription to RodMaker this year, and we have some back issues as well.

For about $350, we could purchase the two CDs that have Volumes 2 -12 and all the individual issues from Volumes 13 - 19 that we do not already have, and we would have access to all the great information that has been in the magazine. Or for about $160, we could buy the 5 Special Edition CDs that seem to cover all the topics that would be pertinent for a rod builder to want access to.

Here is my question: Is there a practical, non-collecting, reason to pay the extra money to have the individual issues? I won't be able to read the Final Thoughts articles, or see the photo galleries and whatnot. But from the perspective of just wanting to have access to all the "gold-nuggets" that have been in RodMaker, it seems that getting the Special Edition CDs seems to be the more economical way to go? Or am I missing something that someone thinks I should consider in going the individual issues route?

Thank you!

Father to William (15 yrs), who I hope has found his passion in custom rod building!

There will be a lot more articles in the individual issues than on the 5 specialty CDs. But those hard copy issues will also cost twice as much.
