Does a reel foot fit inside or on top of Channel on a Channel lock reel seat? And, for saltwater use is dissimilar metals of concern, such as a stainless reel foot in contact with aluminum or titanium reel seat? Re: Channel lock ree seat question.

not sure what you mean ? on top or in, the channel will hold the foot so it will not move side ways . an the rings will hold the foot in place , no up & down , should be no movement in reel , if there is fix it with shims, as I see it , William Sidney AK Re: Channel lock ree seat question.

Wayne,
Google "the nobility of metals" the closer the two metals are to each other, the more compatible they are, the further apart, of course the least. Re: Channel lock ree seat question.

metals work against each other ?? if you put together an leave it, there might be a problem [ I don't know for sure ] it don't happen over night , fish with it an don't worry , just take apart an clean after the fishing trip,
an it should last your life time on the metals you have listed for sure , William Sidney AK Re: Channel lock ree seat question.

As far as saltwater and the metals, I always spray my rods with a light mist from the freshwater hose and wipe them dry, have had no problems. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
