using finger nail polish for marbling?

I was wondering if anyone has tried using finger nail polish for marbling. I have been using Testor paints and having decent results. I thought about using finger nail polish as well since you can get some pretty wild colors.

Thanks in advance

The pigment jars used for marbling use so little product, you'll get maybe 50 rods or more per jar, with no compatibility problems.

I do believe you would do better with straight acetone because the wife's has lanolin added to it to keep the shin around the nail soft
acetone +lanolin = nail polish remover

I have used nail polish to fill in the spaces on a open diamond wrap , with good results. Also to stencil my logo. I want to try a marble with polish, i think you can get a more of a 3d effect and see through effects.

So - is someone going to do this? Innovation comes not from following but from testing. Personally I have not tried this and probably will not.

I will try it on test when I build my next rod and let you know what happens.

Sam,
Look at the post above on partially cured epoxy, someone tried using the applicator brush for epoxy and enough polish was in it to ruin the epoxy finish.

I did try it once & had issues with the acetone upsetting the mixture, also there is very little pigment in the nail polish .I just felt it wasn't worth pursuing, as the powdered pigments give me no problems

FYI

I tried the nail polish in a test run and it was a total failure. The moment I added the nail polish to the thread epoxy, the epoxy started to gum up and turn into a gooey mass. I was able to take a tooth pick and pull off about 80% of the epoxy off the test blank.

Thanks for all of the comments
