Why so few 2 piece blanks?

I'd really like to build a higher end, quality 2 piece stick for travel purposes. Anybody found any great 2 piece freshwater blanks? I've used 2 piece RX7 and Mhx, but want more of a premium blank. I know rodgeeks has a few in the carbon 2, and St Croix has some SCV. Not sure I'm ready to spend 200 bucks though. Is there just not enough demand for manufacturers to do this?

it comes down to it being a trend more than anything else as most boats come equipped with a lockable rod box and can fit a 6,6' or 7 ft rod easily and yes it has become a standard as some feel the joint is not as good as a 1 piece rod when it comes down to sensitivity but that is not true either their is no difference as the tech has cone a long way from solid glass rods

I don't think it's really a trend. A lot of people fish from the bank, relocating to different areas where packing 1 piece rods is a pain.

Unless things have changed dramatically, St Croix has 2 piece blanks in a lot more graphites than SCV.

I know I prefer to fish with a one piece rod myself. However, travelling with a 7' rod in the car isnt very ideal either. For my saltwater fishing, I fish exclusively with 1 piece rods just because I get a better feel with them IMO. The freshwater ones I dont mind so much as Im just catching bass and sunnies. Other people probably have different opinions.

I noticed that Composite Developments that will be at the ICRBE has many 2 peice rod blanks. Apparently more demand in New Zealand or where they sell to.

I was looking at a few 2 pc North Fork Composites blanks the other day. I was surprised at how many different models they had.

There is little if any difference in performance between one, two, three, or four piece blanks. Fly casters, unlike spin casters, rely more upon their rods than their reels for casting, and four-piece rods outsell any other configuration of fly rods/blanks. Many anglers are style and fashion conscious. It is the nature of style and fashion to change frequently. This keeps tackle makers and rod builders busy.

Another thing that has come up with my rod building in the Pacific Northwest is that the blank manufactures have many more blanks in production than you see in their US catalogs. Lamiglas and Talon both have blanks built for the european and russian markets that are two piece where they are much more popular. If I wasn't in a hurry and waited for a production run, they didn't mind selling some to me.
