? about slip chucks from Mudhole

I'm thinking about getting a slip chuck to use for finishing in my power wrapper. It seems that rather than mounting them to a motor shaft, i can just chuck them in the jaws of the chuck on my Clemens. Mudhole lists two such chucks, the Flexcoat and their own CRB. The CRB is half the cost; is there any reason to get the more expensive one? Wouldn't they both work the same?

Great question!

Ours is precision milled in the USA with the quality you expect from Flex Coat products and spinns true. Sage, Loomis, St. Croix and most other Rod Manufacturers use our "original" slip clutch.

...In our opinion you will have no problems putting this in the chuck of the Clemens.

The Flex Coat Slip Clutch is a great tool for any builder. We sell quite a few and am yet to hear anything but great reviews. Link Below.

I've had a Flex-Coat slip chuck for many years without any problems.
