Burnt cork and metal accent questions

Hi all !

If I sand a burnt cork ring in making a grip will the burnt material come off leaving regular cork underneath? Or is that burnt color all the way through the cork ring?

How do I mount a 1 inch metal accent ring between a Eva or cork grip and real seat?

Thanks everybody!!

Mount it on a tenon that is built into the cork or eva grip, the remainder goes into the reelseat.

Thanks all. I will have to trim the end of grips down to the Id of trim ring as the grips I use rarely have tenons.
