I completely understand that I can contact the manufacturer and at the time of posting it was not an option. I figured with the bass following that we have on the board there might be some in the know and offer that knowledge up.

If you have no knowledge of the product why bother posting? You generally seem more than happy to offer advice for your field of interest. Why do you not simply tell all others to contact the manufacturer?

St Croix has been selling their SC I blanks for some time, they're right in their online catalog where they have always been. Not the first time the SC I series has been around, though now they appear to have the IPC technology that's proven itself over time. The blanks from 12+ years ago were matt blue, built quite a few rods on them.

Thank you Spencer. I apparently overlooked that when I was going through the catalog. I had not seen them in a while and I am guessing that was because I didn't go deep enough in the catalog. I have built many of them in the past. I really liked the blue ones hence my interest in the new series.

Again, thank you for opening my eyes.

Tom
