Rainshadow Immortal color question

I recently ordered two blanks, a 7'2" and a 6'8".
They are fantastic but they seem to be two different colors, the 6'8" seems to be bluish in color as opposed to the titanium....anyone run into this?
Thanks,
Jon

The blue and the titanium have been used by Batson to make their rods. I believe that there was a color change in blanks or a difference in the blanks. I had thought that the blank that was one step up was blue as opposed to the titanium.

But, just give Batson a call in Washington and verify.

I see that there have been some modifications made in some of the blanks for 2017. Check out each of the blanks for the details.

Be safe

It sounds like you may have gotten one Eternity (blueish) and one Immortal (titanium) blank.

No Mike....It's not that blue....more of a darker tint with some blue.
Maybe the paint machine wasn't cleaned well enough after the eternities...LoL

Yes but what if a customer wants several identical rods

Then, of course the customer will get several identical rods.

Take care

I'm not following you Roger...if the color is different then they are not the same!

Jon,
I was just agreeing you with your statement. If a customer wants rods that are all the same color, it is necessary to build on blanks that are all the same color.

If the blanks that you have are not the same color, you will have to obtain new blank or blanks so that you end up with two blanks of the same color.

Be safe

Hello Jon.

If you are building a matched set, when you order tell the person who takes your order to pay attention to the things you think important in that build like matching colors, or winding checks at so-and such measurement, I once built a series of rods from H to XH to XXH all for the same guy on the same boat and he wanted them painted to match his boat, so I bought them them stripped & had them repainted (Viking Blue & Goldenrod) at an auto shop, because that company did not do paint that color.

Any of the dealers in the left list will check for you if you need something special, and if they cant give it to you they will give you some idea of how to get it done (in most cases).

Tight Wraps & Tighter Lines.

Bob,

New Bern, NC.

I’ve found out they went through a minor paint change but looking at the old paint verses the new one it’s very minimal. (the paint changed within the last year).

Bad news in my eyes from Batson.....

The new paint job has a little tint of green in it (to my eyes, which might be the blue you’re seeing). The previous had a little more “sparkle” to it

I have 3 7ft. Rick Clunn Sig. series rods from Bass Pro Shops. Good blanks, 9 Fuji Sic guides, The 1st two have beautiful translucent blue blanks while the 3rd is clearly purple. Everytime I look at them the purple one p!@#$ me off!
