I did a foam grip EVA ? which has slices of diferent colors in it. When I turned it on the lathe it has a few voids/gaps in the glue up, I used contact cement and did not get it %100 tight in a few spots. The base color of the grip is grey. Any ideas of how to fill in the cracks. What sort of glue and foam dust will match the same color of the grip. If it was cork I would know what to do, but have not had this happen to me before with the foam grip.
Any help would be nice. Cheers Ron Re: foam grip voids fill

I have no experience, but if you want dust to match a color, use dust from that material. Turn a piece of it just to get the dust. If you have a clear glue it might take on the color of the dust.
But I really think you're screwed and would be better served by just doing it over. You know already, I presume, if done right, the gap is just about invisible. Re: foam grip voids fill

I have to agree with Michael. Probably best to start over. You can put a shrink grip over the damaged grip and use on another rod. Re: foam grip voids fill

I've had good results using black hypalon dust and white craft glue (like Elmer's) to fill gaps in a hypalon grip. I just mixed the sanding dust with the glue and glopped it in the void. I overfilled the void then sanded it flush after the glue cured. After dozens of uses, the repair is "noticeable" to me because I made it but, I don't think most would pick up on it. Thank you all for your insight, i will try a repair and if it @#$%& I will re do.
I will get some experience messing with it, and if not re do. It is a rod for myself that I am making for a trip so it will not be used all that much, but still like to show good work. Cheers Ron Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
