In order to extend a flipping stick and it is really quit simple. The first thing you need is some texolon tubing and some Rod building glue. Now normally you would insert your tube into your blank, but if you do it like that your telescopic flipping stick will not extend anymore. To fix this problem how about if we just slip the tube over the blank and then glue the tube over the outer blank and put on your EVA or Cork. So there you go guys you now have a working teloscoping flipping stick that is normally 7.6 extended to 8.0 or even longer and if you wish you can make it even longer and it will still collapse like it did before.
If yours Rod is a store bought Rod you may need to remove some or all of your already installed grip to do this. Glenn McMurrian Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/21/2017 05:38PM by Glenn McMurrian. Re: How to turn a 7.6 flipping stick into a 8ft or longer flipping stick

I use aluminum tube, PVC I'd think would be as heavy and lower modulus and weaker than the blank, I try to put something stronger into an extention, no matter it's length. Re: How to turn a 7.6 flipping stick into a 8ft or longer flipping stick

Plenty of builders have scrap graphite/glass laying around.
Get a dowel and bush it with painters tape at two places: 8" inside butt section and right at end of butt. Measure with a micrometer and ask around. Or - do the opposite: measure O.D. 8" up from butt and O.D. of butt. Maybe you can get a piece of scrap to fit over the blank. I can also have one made custom by CTS. X 2 on there Aluminum tube or even a scrap heavy wall rod blank . Also, I extended an existing rod with a carbon fiber tube, like what they use on quad copters and it has held up very well.

Glen
Even though you started it out "How to" I did not realize this was a "how-to: post. I don't think others knew that either. Sorry for my comments. Herb Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
