Rodgeek Bass 4- 7'11" HMF 3.3oz $120
Northfork IM-MB807 Mag Bass- 8' MagL F $220

Batson rx-7sw967 multi purpose. Utmost, Schneiders. Simple spiral, you'll love it. At least I would. I built a 967f for my son for much the same purpose, and it's a peach!

From what I understand swim bait blanks and some saltwater blanks like Lynn mentioned are the best type of blanks to use for Alabama rigs. You need something that is able to cast up to 4 to 6 oz. without stressing the rod or the caster. It also has to have more flex in the tip then what most heavy duty bass rods offer, but it also has to have a lot backbone in the butt section. A large Swim bait rod has these characteristics. There are a number of different manufacturers that offer these types of blanks including MHX, Bushido, Rainshadow, Northfork, Phenix, St Croix, and probably others. I built one a few years ago based on some recommendations I received and used the Rainshadow ISWB945, but I think it has been discontinued. It might have been replaced by the Rainshadow Revelation swimbait blank. I am sure others will chime in on what they believe will work for this technique.
