Guide Accent Wrap

How does everyone feel or have you had an issues with an accent wrap (5 or 6 wraps) up the foot closest to the eye.

Accent wraps, trim bands, inlaid turns, etc. can all be vexing from time to time regardless of their location. The keys to success are planning and finding a technique you can execute consistently well.

The thread wraps nearest the guide leg/ring are the ones that most/best secure the guide to the blank. If the accent wrap in that area is equally snug then it shouldn't be a problem. If it's a loose affair, even with epoxy over the top you might find the guide prone to loosening side to side over a few seasons. Maybe.
