Just wondering if anybody knows the value of a South Bend number 23 bamboo fly rod with the silver nickel reel seat 8 and a half foot they say they are very rare Re: South Bend number 23 bamboo fly rod

It really depends on the condition. I might be worth anywhere from $25 to $300, again, depending on the condition.

The #23 Originally sold for $12.00 made around 1936 and the original reel seats were chrome plated, not NS. The latest information I could find valued them at approx. $0-350.00 depending upon condition. Re: South Bend number 23 bamboo fly rod

Anything over $150-175 is going to be hard to get for a South Bend. As a comparison I recently sold a somewhat sought after South Bend 291 in excellent condition and was hard pressed to get $300. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
