Reel seats that is....

Unpainted would be the most durable, long lasting in appearance, but if you like a colored seat there is little reason not to do it. Just remember that painted can chip or scratch, although none of that would affect the seat's operation.

If you are looking for color, why not make your own. I use HDPE plastic, melt and form into 1" blanks. Then turn like wood. I use milk cartons, bleach containers, fabric softener bottles, etc. Oil cans are good to as are many other containters. Just look for the HDPE on the bottom in a triangle. Lots of Youtube videos on just how to melt it and make things from the resultant blank. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
