This is my first post. I live near Cedar Rapids, IA. I've wrapped several rods. None over a $100 price point. I'd like to build a 6' 10" drop shot rod. Here's what I plan to use; an Immortal blank, a reversed Aero reel seat so fingers are forward the reel foot and cork split handle. My question is do I dare use a Microwave set with Durolite rings (that I already have) for this use? I will normally join #15 braid to #6 fluoro with an alberto knot. Yes, I know the FG is a better knot with a lower profile but more of a pain for me to tie. I just leave the tag ends of the fluoro at the knot a bit longer so they pass through guides better. Thanks guys. Re: Micro Guides
