Does anyone use this system? I'd like to make custom decals with customer names or rod specs without ordering them from decal connection. I will for sure keep using them for color graphics.. Wanting to know if this system makes a descent decal for what I'm wanting to do?

Yes - well worth the $. And you can import graphics (just not multi-color).

Do you guys use clear tape or colored? I got some samples and the clear looks pretty crummy to me. The black with silver looks great.

It works great. I use black or clear label tape with silver color. It makes very professional labels that last. It's easy to download new fonts and symbols as well. Customer service is top notch.I highly recommend this system.

Does it do white?

What are the differences between this and the Alps everyone uses?

I bought my system at the first EXPO that Larry had them there. it is the BEST investment I have made in roadbuilding for years. It has made every decal that I put on rods, including changing the manufacturers decal to a particular color that matches the theme of the rod.

Larry Tobin is the best. Whenever I had a question he was right there to answer how to do certain thing as just recently on how to reverse colors to complete a Baltimore Orioles rod in which we reversed a orange on black tape to a black on orange tape!

The system as I have found out is more friendly on the microsoft windows program than on my Mac which has limited options.... problem solved on Black Friday I got a new computer using Microsoft, I like that PEARLable printer system that much.

Anyone considering buying one will not be disappointed and the savings on decals pays for itself in no time

Tom

The unit allows you to import any graphic you design in whatever program you use so I haven't found any limitations using it on a Macintosh.
