Holographic metallic thread

I've used Gudbrod silver holographic metallic winding thread, but am getting low. Anyone know of other wrapping threads available in silver holo? I know there are sewing or embroidery threads, but would prefer to stick with rod wrapping threads if possible.

Thanks, William, I know that. I prefer to use products designed for rodbuilding, but will go to the sewing shop if necessary.

Hello Michael.

Are you talking about the "Electra Metallic Hologram Braid" #5030 or the "Prizm Holographic Thread" #5002?

Sulky has what they call "Holoshimmer Thread" which is a "Flat Polyester Metallized Metal Film" #6001. Sold by a few companies including MudHole.

Personally I would never call them "Thread" as they are a "flat ribbon" and not a "thread", to me "thread" is round, just my .02.

Bob,

New Bern, NC.

I guess for decorative wrappings you can use whatever you have laying around. I've used a lot of stuff from my fly tying chest myself. And even thin copper thread. Never used sewing thread though, anyone know what size to use there too align to the Gudebrod size A?

What I'm looking for is thread, round, not a flat product. Re the size equivalence, I think there are converters on line, do a search.

Norman, thanks, will keep that Mudhole product in mind. It may do just fine. Would really like to see it.
