Dense EVA grips

I've got 12 inch eva grips I got from a local shop that are super dense and feels very good quality. Not very compressible.

But I would like something a few inches longer since I'm building a vertical jigging rod. It just barely reaches my armpit.

I know GetBit sells 16 inch eva, but I don't know the quality of it. I haven't checked other places.

Any one know where to find really dense eva?

My third option is building a split grip. But I didn't want to deal with winding checks and all that since I don't have the blank. Unless there's another idea of getting a few extra inches out of 12 inch grips.

It's not required to used winding checks on a split grip. A simple JTOB or a single trim band and an epoxy ramp makes a fine transition from blank to grip and if done properly, can provide a bit of protection for the grip in the rodholder.

I use the space between the grips for more dec wraps or rod info or the owners name.

You can also use contact cement to glue two grips end to end. A little light sanding and the joint should be hardly noticeable.

So far the densest factory EVA grips I know of are made by Batson/Rainshadow. 14 inches long.

The "wood grain" looking ones from mudhole are pretty dense and come in longer lengths. Be prepared to ream as they don't strecth much!

Did you find the grip you wanted? On a long rear grip I put 2 together then used the flocked shrink tube over it.
