Looking for a 2 piece blank in the ~6'10" to 7'2" length range for casting spinners ( 1/4 - 1/3oz) to trout. Hoping for fast action and light/medium power for use with #4-6 mono.

How big are the trout? Would 7 1/2 ft. be too long?

A 5 or 6 weight might work well for you.

Look at the St. Croix 76MLXF2, super light ultralight tip with more than enough backbone for the big one. Have caught trout to 32 inches with the blank. Also smallies, steelhead, and pink salmon. Probably would do fine as a dropshot rod also.

I have no doubt that's a beauty, i just don't think I would trust myself with a blank that dear. Looking for something less than a Benjamin..

I like the MHX line of spinning blanks for Mt trout good blanks good price.

The MHX trout blanks are way to light for 1/3 oz., I look at the MHX SJ842-2, or if you need to stay short for travel there is the MHX 7 1/2 ft., 3 piece of the same power for $5 over your limit. Either have a sweet spot in the 1/4 to 3/8 oz. range, and can throw a bit more, or less.
