So I'm using the Evergreen HCSC-70MG Torquata 7 and the Evergreen HCSC 611MHG Serval respectively for my lipless cranks and bladed jigs. These rods are pretty pricey. The guides are double foot Fuji Titanium SiC's so they aren't skimping on materials necessarily but I wondered what the highest quality glass Blank would set up back in order to compare.
The HCSC-70MG Torquata 7 is a 7' rod that built weighs 157g with full length Eva foam handle while the HCSC 611MHG Serval at 6' 11" is quite heavy at 187g but it does have split grip cork handles and double foot Fuji K stainless steel SiC guides. Thanks in advance Edited 3 time(s). Last edit at 10/17/2016 08:14AM by Matthew Priestley. Re: What's the highest quality Glass Blank

There is a considerable difference between the physical properties of E-glass and S-glass, and which blank is best depends upon how it will need to perform. Re: What's the highest quality Glass Blank

Put SBS706 and BS706 in the search function for starters. Remember to select "all dates". Re: What's the highest quality Glass Blank

I'm looking for the best Blank to fish shallow crank. Max weight 1/2oz up 10ft.
Then another Blank to fish lipless cranks up to 1/2oz in weight. Finally, a 3rd Blank to fish bladed jigs and bigger lipless cranks. While the blades jig weight will be 1/2oz, with a trailer, the total weight is actually 3/4oz Thanks in advance for your help Re: What's the highest quality Glass Blank

I would choose a very stiff, fast-action rod for crank baits equipped with multiple treble hooks, giving them less time to spit the lure and more chance of hooking them anywhere. For single-hook jigs I would use a medium-action rod. In my opinion a slower action blank gives me more time to feel the hit and set the hook, whereas fish quickly feel the un-natural resistance of a tight line and a stiff action rod - and drop the bait. I believe S-glass blanks make faster rods. Re: What's the highest quality Glass Blank

The bs706 and st croix glass offerings are very nice. Id assume the rodgeeks is as well. Another option is to call kistler rods and see if you can one of their newly released reel and feel rods. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
