Does anyone know where I can get the winding check in the photo on the right? The size on the one on the left is .240” ID. My usual source is out and will be for months. They are used on ice rods. Fastenall doesn’t carry anything like that either. Thanks, Buzz

Buzz- Get Bit sells forecast rubber/vinyl winding checks down to 0.125" ID. I have about 20 very small winding checks if you want them you can have them for free. I have had them for years and do not think I wlll ever use them. Email me if you want them.

Are you sure you even need a winding check? Re: Looking for very small winding checks, ice rods

yes. I am. Grips built on a sleeve for support. Sleeve ID much larger than blank OD. So area of visible fabrication very noticeable. Re: Looking for very small winding checks, ice rods

Another possibility is to do an epoxy ramp to hide the "construction." A short, conical, ramp that starts at the OD of the cork and transitions into the blank in .5-1 inch. Not as efficient as a check, but if you cannot get any checks. . .
How about a plastic disc that comes without a hole, and you drill your own hole? Might be time for us to start thinking outside the box. Re: Looking for very small winding checks, ice rods

Mick,
Hmmm, like the ramp idea. Have done it before on spin rods. To make it useful I would have to square off the foregrip on the custom modified TN grips. but it should work. Thanks, Re: Looking for very small winding checks, ice rods

Buzz,
Thorne brothers carry small and extra small winding checks that you can purchase from them in bags of 25 each. Be safe Re: Looking for very small winding checks, ice rods

Hardware store. Look for faucet washers. Delete the fore grip and slide the washer into the reel seat. Re: Looking for very small winding checks, ice rods
