Attaching lanyard - to custom kayak rods.
Looking for a way to incorporate a tie off point in the rear grip of the rod during the fabrication process of a custom grip. I would like to be able to build this during the grip process rather than after the rod is done. what has your experience been in attachments for kayak rods? Thanks, Buzz

There was an article on soft attachment points for kayak rods in a past issue of the magazine. You can certainly get some ideas there.

Fashioning a nylon cord loop from the end of the butt cap is a good way.

Buss,

I have only done one Kayak rod for a work buddy and I used a loop of heavy parachute cord and epoxied it under the back end of the front split grip. I then hooked a phone bungee cord to the loop and it worked great according to my buddy.
