I thought I would share a email I received today from American Tackle accusing me of something that is not true and I have not done. They sent this to me before they verified anything.
Read below If you are using a non-American Tackle Quad Leg guide you are infringing on our design patent D627,032. You are in violation of the law and you are liable for damages and fines! You are now on notice to cease and desist from using this style guide or risk a law suit. We are already beginning the process and several rod companies have already been notified. Don't wait for us to find you - do the right thing and stop using infringing guides. STAY CONNECTED: Re: American Tackle falsely accusing people

That email was not aimed at you, nor any other custom rod builder in particular. It was a generic email sent to a wide ranging list they have on file. It deals with manufacturer/s and commercial rod operations that American Tackle claims are using guides which are they believe are in violation of an American Tackle patent. It is, in fact, a copy of an advertisement they will soon have published in an industry trade publication.
That's all it is. It was not aimed at any custom rod builder in any personal sense. ........... Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 09/21/2016 09:25PM by Tom Kirkman. Re: American Tackle falsely accusing people

Am Tackle sent me the same email. It did rub me the wrong way and I will think twice before using their products in the future. The email definitely should have been worded in a much less accusatory way. Re: American Tackle falsely accusing people

American Tackle needs to be more responsible and verify their email lists before they just hit send and send emails to people that are not doing what they are accusing them of. I think it was not very professional of them by not knowing who they are accusing and sending this email to. Re: American Tackle falsely accusing people

They did not accuse you, nor me nor any other custom builder of anything.
It seems such a simple matter but I suppose many will jump to the wrong conclusion. Let's drop it and let the matter take its course among those who are actually involved. ................. Sorry, you can't reply to this topic. It has been closed.
