Can anyone recommend the best NCP thread to use with ThreadMaster Lite? Thanks

Best option, buy a few different brands in the colors you want to use, do some test wraps on a piece of scrap blank in the same base color as your blank, pick the one that suits Your eye the best.

You're probably going to several opinions of what is the "best" brand, they are all good.

I rarely use NCP thread, but I get asked what brand of nylon or silk do I like the best pretty frequently, to me it depends on the color and what color blank it is going on. I think certain brands have more vibrant colors depending on what color it is.

What Bill wrote. It's all about the color "pop" where one thread brand's reds are better and another brand's blue's are more attractive.

Ultimately you grab some thread, maybe some CP, and the finish of your choice and make test wraps in the grip or reel seat area of the blank until you see what you wanted to see.

When it comes to nylons and finishes, each is its own thing. Epoxy finishes were not formulated to do anything other than to coat whatever. In this case, thread. It is the same as Tom K. reminds us about rod blanks. A blank is a blank is a blank. They know not their intended use. It is an inanimate object with various properties designed into them to do what is needed. Is there a "best" thread? I don't know and have never had issues with the various finishes I've used and different manufacturers threads. The "best" thread,as stated above are the ones whose colors strike your fancy.

Derrek

I recently did a comparison of several colors (white, black, royal blue, candy apple, and goldenrod) ncp / nocp threads for a sports theme build I was doing. I tested FUJI nocp, PRO WRAP color fast, and some GUDEBROD that I had stashed. I also used cp on the ncp / nocp threads with Threadmaster Lite..................and chose the FUJI. Brighter colors and good consistent color. The rod looked great!
